Our hand-made items make unique wedding gifts, birthday presents, christening presents and anniversary gifts. We also supply corporate gifts that can be customised to your own requirements. We are still accepting orders, so please order as usual, but allow a little extra time for postal delays. Many of our large items can have a name added - a chance to have something unique in a globalised world.

Want to add a unique name? Just a quick email to say that my piggy bank arrived this morning that I recently ordered for my Godson Benjamin, and I love it, its absolutely fantastic - better than I could have imagined. Thank-you for dealing with my request so promptly and kindly and for the great customer service that I have received. I will most certainly be recommending 'Muggins' to fellow family and friends.
Services
So what do we make?
It's quite simple really - we make pottery with faces on.
Cats, dogs, mice, mugs, goblets, boxes, teapots, bowls.
The whole range.
Muggins Pottery is based in Leicestershire in England, twelve miles south of Nottingham and near the village of Cotes.
At Muggins we pride ourselves in making and supplying high quality pottery to our own individual and unique designs, something we've been doing for over 30 years.
We don't mass-produce our pottery - every item and every face that has ever been made at Muggins is hand-made and unique.
We mix our glazes manually and produce only enough for a particular firing of the kiln.
The effect of this is that our glazes produce pottery items that are unique and full of character - no two are ever the same.
In this world of mass-production and dull uniformity, our products can present people with something of a problem - our glazes can vary from one firing to the next.
The final result depends upon so much - the particular glaze mix, the thickness of its application, the character of the clay after biscuit firing, the length of time pieces are in the kiln, how many pork pies you've had for lunch.
We exhibit in the UK at craft fairs throughout the year.
We can arrange to bring along pottery items that are too fragile to post - let us know in advance.
If you are local to us in the East Midlands, you are welcome to call in to our pottery, but please check with us in advance.
There is a location map in the contact section.
You can ask for specific items to be brought to a craft fair near you - very useful for particularly fragile items (especially the dragons which cannot be posted).
If you want a moneybank with a name on it, remember that they can take a few weeks to make from scratch.
Sending pottery overseas from the UK is VERY expensive.
The list below comprises our most common items that are posted out.
If items are not on the list, we cannot send them either due to their nature (too fragile) or size.
Bear in mind that a small A4 size box can be sent economically.
If more than one item is purchased and it cannot be accommodated in the same box, the postage is likely to double simply because it's cheaper (and indeed safer) to send two small boxes rather than one large one.
At Muggins, we believe that plastic bungs in piggy banks make life too easy, so we don't make any of our piggy banks with bungs.
This is actually quite helpful - next time you're off shopping or to the pub, you can't do a quick money grab and deplete your stash.
Although this might seem a little restrictive, you'll thank us in the end.
We make the slots in our money banks quite large, so getting coins and notes out isn't so hard.
You just need to get a stiff piece of card about the width of the slot and about 6 inches long, put it into the slot, turn the money box upside down, preferably over a bed or sofa, then gently waggle it with the card in place.
