Established in 1928, W E Cole is a family owned business now in its 3rd generation.
Originally started by William Edgar Cole as a bespoke tailors and outfitters, with Mr Cole being a "cutter of distinction" making suits from which the old leather order book read like a Who's Who, when local farmers, bank managers, and head teachers would aspire to be seen in a Cole's 3 piece suit.
During the war when cloth was rationed, uniforms were the order of the day.
Officers, especially North Weald Airdrome pilots were constantly calling in with more stripes for their sleeves.
