Lebanese & Moroccan Cuisine, Samara Cuisine
We are a small business based in Lower Sunbury, Surrey, the first Thameside village outside London. We have brought exquisite food and Arabic glamour to hundreds of events, from weddings for more than two-hundred people to birthday parties or intimate dinners for ten. Drawing on the best and most authentic of Beiruti and Lebanese recipes learnt throughout my childhood, Samara Cuisine offers a fresh and healthy alternative to traditional catering.

From endless variations of mezze by way of intensely sweet and savoury flavours of tagine and bistilla to rose-tinged, syrup-drenched pastries and baklava, we have specialities to enrich any celebration. All of our Lebanese and Moroccan food is ready to be served or cooked in your own home. If you would like to enjoy the extravagant glory of a full Arabic event, Samara Cuisine can organise everything from music, Arabian tents, belly dancers, snake charmers, camels, shishas, Persian carpets and Moroccan lanterns.

We have catered for clients from central London to Wales.

I come from the centre of town overlooking the Mediterranean squeezed between the haunted husk of the Holiday Inn on one side and the abundant palms and cedars of the American University of Beirut on the other.
My father is a printer and his works are in the basement of our apartment block so when the bombs started falling around us and the lights went out, that's where we and all our neighbours would gather until the danger was past.
That's a long story and quite an adventure, involving an elopement to Cyprus with the young English writer and journalist who became my husband.
The Lebanese have always expressed their various identities through the intertwining of religion, food, music and dance.
Lebanese culture and traditions are honoured at haflis (parties), mahrajans (feasts), and by musicians playing the traditional five-stringed instrument, the Oud.
Religious events - whether big Islamic feasts, like Eid Al Adha or Christian festivals such as Easter Sunday or the feast day of Saint Maroun - each have their own special food to celebrate the day.
