In the summer of 2016, my husband Dave and I had our wedding reception in our approx 2.5 acre hay field, overlooking the lovely city of Winchester and the stunning South Downs National Park. We decided on a low budget, DIY affair, with tents and marquees borrowed from friends and family. We supplied kegs of beer and cider and filled a couple of baths with ice for the wine and soft drinks.
On our invites, we asked our guests to bring their favourite pudding and a bottle to add to the drinks' supply. We put out games for everyone to enjoy. As we had gotten married at the Registry Office on the Monday- The Summer Solstice- our party on the following Saturday was a Celebration Party, not the actual wedding, so our amazing local band who we hired in for the evening, charged us for a 'party' not a 'wedding', which would have cost a lot more!
It was perfect! We had such an amazing time and so many people commented on what a fab place it was for the celebration. We charge 400 per day or 1000 for a long weekend.
