Steeped in history and set amidst spectacular wooded countryside, Launcells Barton is a family-owned, Grade II* listed manor house in Launcells, a small parish situated near Bude in North Cornwall.
With lovingly restored historic buildings and a purpose-built Reception Barn, this sophisticated wedding venue is perfect for those seeking a tranquil, picturesque setting for their celebration or event.
Offering a flexible, fully bespoke service and exclusive use, we're passionate about helping you create a truly memorable occasion against a stunning backdrop of quintessentially Cornish scenery.
Although Launcells Manor House is referred to in the Domesday Book of 1086, Launcells Barton as we know it is made up of two halves.
The varied heritage of the house and its different architectural details are part of what makes this venue so unique.
Thought to date back to the 14th century, the older half of the house was once held by a cell of Augustine monks affiliated with Devon's Hartland Abbey.
Having originally included a chapel, this part of Launcells Barton retains a number of charming original features.
The brand new, purpose-built Reception Barn at Launcells Barton has been designed to complement the original house and the surrounding countryside while providing a state-of-the-art space for your wedding.
The barn's large seating area is light and airy.
With the capacity to accommodate up to 180 guests on round tables, or up to 200 if configured on trestle tables, there is also an ultra-modern fitted kitchen for your chosen caterers to use.
As well as a spacious bar and lounge area with a delightfully cosy atmosphere and plenty of comfy leather sofas, the Reception Barn has lots of outdoor seating and a large lawn where your guests can mingle.
The converted 19th century stone built Mill Barn features beautiful exposed beams and large French doors that allow natural light to come flooding in while also revealing incredible views of the surrounding countryside.
Open right up to the rafters, the neutral tones of the barn's original construction provide the perfect blank canvas for your wedding decor.
While the walls have been repaired and refreshed, much of the original stone work remains exposed, emphasising the unique charm and character of the building.
Brimming with carefully tended seasonal blooms, the large walled garden at Launcells Barton features a beautiful custom-built licensed arbour and a seating area for up to 160 guests.
The original archway leading into the garden has been reinstated to create the perfect entrance for your outdoor wedding ceremony.
With ample space for acoustic musicians or other entertainment, the south facing courtyard is a wonderful spot where your guests can gather for drinks and canaps.
