Services
The Longhouse is one of the best child friendly wedding venues in Somerset.
It is a family run venue and was built in 2004 next to Trendle Farm, where I've lived since my parents bought it in 1984.
I returned to the family business after serving as a captain in the Royal Tank Regiment and in industry.
My first major project was to project manage the build of the Longhouse and we were determined to make it as environmentally designed and sustainably built as possible; this has enabled us to have a fantastic venue for really green weddings.

Matt married his wife Flora in 2005 and it was always their plan to have the wedding reception at the Longhouse.
Designed to create a feeling of floating above the tree tops, the Longhouse boasts stunning view across the Brue valley stretching over our vineyard, the River Brue and beyond.
The southern side widens out to a full length balcony overlooking the lawn, formal flower beds and gazebo.
It is a popular area for wedding guests in the evening to enjoy catching up with friends, soak in the views or just take a break from dancing!
We are licensed to have wedding ceremonies in three locations the gazebo, the vaulted Wine Cellar and the Longhouse.
The interior of the Longhouse has purposely been decorated in muted tones to allow wedding couples to enjoy creating their own colour schemes.
There are different table layouts depending on the number of guests, and how formal you want the wedding breakfast to be.
The tables are long and rectangular rather than round, making it easier for guests to be able to talk to each other.
The Longhouse bar is adjacent and close enough not to split up the wedding party, and importantly on the same level.
There is a disabled lavatory and baby changing facilities also on the same level.
As part of the venue hire, the bride and groom will have the use of the bridal flat in the main farmhouse from 11.00am Saturday until 11.00am Sunday.
This includes a double bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom and large sitting room.
Distance need not be a problem for your guests as we can provide accommodation at the Longhouse for you (in the bridal flat) and for up to 40 wedding guests.
We also have a great selection of Hotels and B&B's situated nearby.
