Ror's Kitchen
We rove around the country catering for weddings and serving dinners in new and interesting locations. We do the odd pop-up, we do lots of larger events and weddings each year, as well as the smaller events and dinner parties. We like to go out of our way to create flavours that you might not have tried before, but which you'd find on British soil.

Where possible we head out into the wild and bring back a foraged haul for your plate. Ror's Kitchen was setup by Ruaraidh (pronounced 'Rory' - hence Ror) used to work as a chef. Ruaraidh now works in a number of other businesses, but uses Ror's Kitchen as a creative vent and a chance to get back into the kitchen and spend all day cooking, but on his own terms!

So, yes we cater, but there are some things we don't do.
We don't do Chicken balmoral.
We don't do frozen (unless it's ice cream, duh).
We do unusual.
If you want normal catering, we're probably not for you.
Whether it's a BBQ in a barn, an Argentinian themed 'Assado', a pig roasted on a spit over an open fire, or more traditional fare, we can help.
We don't really do set menus or packages, everything is 'bespoke' (what a horrible word!).
Ror's Kitchen offers reasonable and interesting catering for events and dinner parties in Edinburgh.
We do dinner parties, weddings, picnics, cocktail parties, corporate lunches, the lot.
Whether it be an intimate dinner for friends, or a canap fundraiser, you want to impress your guests, and so do we.
From start to finish, we like to do things differently if possible, from the plates we use to the presentation of our staff.
We don't like to overcomplicate the food.
Often, less is more.
What makes it different?
Our smoked salmon is additive free, and also cured and smoked less than most brands.
The result is a very natural smoked salmon with a more delicate taste.
Because we cure it less, there is less moisture loss from the salmon, which leads to a moister salmon with a full texture.
Because it is hand sliced (and therefore slightly thicker), you'll also notice the texture more.
We have a range of cures that very subtly alter the salmon in different ways.
Our beetroot cure is perhaps the most popular, giving the exterior edges of the salmon a lovely pink colour.
