The Lake District fells and dales provide a glorious backdrop, not just for the keen walker but for the perfect event, the daily inspiration and the escapism that many people dream of AND I am lucky enough to call it home. I'm Amy and an expert in planning, organising, writing, and motivation! It's like one of those meetings but my addiction involves a laptop, typing, research and a lot of spreadsheets.
As long as the diet cokes are cold, the laptop is charged and there is ink in my pen and spare paper I'm happy. I've been an event planner for years; even in my teens it was me who organised the parties, the school fundraisers, helped at parent teacher evenings, volunterred for everything and then took over editing the yearbook on the side just to keep busy.
I like being involved, I like helping and I love it when a plan comes together! Sure to Surprise You is just that. Organising, planning, motivation and writing in one place. To be completely honest it makes sense.
Organising an event or wedding is made up of the following formula: bespoke research on the couple/client, a full and colourful spreadsheet of timings and instructions, planning the days structure and then completing the day with passion and with very happy clients and all tied up with helpful emails and suggestions whilst being at the end of the phone when needed.

Working at music festivals, the Edinburgh International Book Festival, hotels, theatre and bars all put me in good stead to continue into eventing after I finished my degree in English and Film-studies at Aberdeen University.
Love made me move south (from bonnie Scotland!) to Windermere, The Lake District where I quickly began working in tourism and hospitality, running events all over the Lakes before I started to brave it on my own.
