The Lawn
As a wedding venue, The Lawn is special. Our wedding parties enjoy exclusive use of the venue from 9.30 in the morning through to midnight, including two spacious rooms in which to change, prepare and then relax after the wedding. With its magnificent manor house and beautiful grounds combined with the unparalleled (yet not over-bearing) levels of service enjoyed by all our clients and their guests, The Lawn has earned a reputation for excellence that is second to no other wedding venue in Essex.

As a Family run business, we have worked hard and invested heavily in making The Lawn one of the very best wedding venues in Essex. Whether you prefer to have a civil ceremony in the comfortable splendour of the manor house itself, or marry in a church and enjoy your wedding reception and 'after-party' at The Lawn, we ensure that you have a wedding day to remember - for all the right reasons!

Your wedding day is special and we appreciate that every wedding is unique. We are not pushy and do not promote nor try to apply wedding packages but rather prefer to tailor the requirements to our clients' own particular needs - all at a price that virtually everyone finds surprisingly affordable with a clear and stated policy of 'no hidden extras.'
Services
Step into the atmosphere of an historic country home that exudes taste, warmth and comfort and which is one of the most sought after wedding venues in Essex.
The Lawn is an elegant Georgian manor house licensed for civil ceremonies and the solemnisation of same-sex marriages, set in 3 acres of landscaped and beautifully kept gardens, surrounded by over 100 acres of rolling park and woodland.
The entire venue is exclusively yours for your special day and provides the perfect setting for your photographs.
We fell in love with the Lawn from the very first time we saw it and knew all of our family and friends would love it too.
They made this whole process so easy for us, whilst also giving us space to enjoy our day.
We couldn't believe how smoothly the whole day ran (especially after all we have been through since we got engaged!).
This is all thanks to the Lawn and our other suppliers and we only wish we could do the whole day all over again.
Firstly our apologies this has taken so long to compose and send, a combination of new married life and simply finding the right words!
Ready for the 2019 season, The Lawn now boasts a stunning new wedding gazebo.
The beautifully landscaped and maintained gardens have always been a big feature of The Lawn and now they can really be enjoyed to the full.
Nestled in its own area of lawn and with the fragrant rose garden as a backdrop, there can be few better places to tie the knot on a Summer's afternoon than in The Lawn's very own English country garden.
We fell in love with the Lawn from the very first time we saw it and knew all of our family and friends would love it too.
The Lawn has gorgeous reception rooms, all retaining the warmth and splendour of the manor house when it was used as a grand home.
The Blue Room is the impressive first reception room your guests will enter from The Terrace and it adjoins both the club room (dance floor) and the galleried Grand Hall, where civil ceremonies are held and which becomes the hub for the evening party and buffet.
Also connected to the Grand Hall is the Park Room with its fully stocked bar and comfortable sofa.
We fell in love with the Lawn from the very first time we saw it and knew all of our family and friends would love it too.
Every Wedding is unique and should not necessarily be priced as a "package".
To give you an idea of pricing, please follow this link to our Tailored Wedding Enquiry form.
You will be delighted to see how little the full package can cost, in relation to its value and exceptional quality of service; we are still a family business and care.
There is no Service Charge nor hidden extras.
No need for Wedding Planners - we can run the day for you free.
We can advise firm charges once we know when you want to come, as it depends upon the day and season.
